Belgium
Belgium has excellent domestic and international transport links, with a well-developed rail network, making it even more accessible for Eurostar travellers. It has a population of around 10 million people. Although the chocolate and beer are world-famous, these are not the only specialities on offer. Moules-frites are a Belgian delicacy that are served in most restaurants. Much of the Belgian cuisine has a strong French influence, with rich flavours and dishes unique to each region.
Belgian GeographyThe country is divided into 10 divisions and 3 regions, and hosts the EU (European Union) and NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) headquarters. Belgium is a federal democracy, but still a monarchy (similar to that of England). The climate is colder than that of France, but warmer than Germany and the Netherlands. The land is flatter in the north than the south, with the Ardennes Forest and its mountains towards the southeast.
