Bourg St Maurice
Bourg-Saint-Maurice provides connections to many major ski resorts; it has an extension of Les Arcs, and allows Eurostar, TGV and Ski Train links. The station, in the Arc Valley, is at the foot of the Aiguille Rouge mountain. There are also frequent buses to all the major resorts from the bus station located next to the rail terminal, and a coach station. The town has its own tourist office and banking facilities. Skitrains to Bourg Saint Maurice run Fridays and Saturdays only.Eurostar trains between St Pancras International, Ashford and Bourg St Maurice have average journey times of 8 hours, 9 minutes, but the route is only available between December and April because of the ski season, although Bourg is popular with non-skiing tourists. Tickets outside the ski season are for an indirect service through Paris only.
Bourg-Saint-Maurice, also known as just Bourg, is the last large town along the Tarentaise valley in the Savoie area, in the heart of the Rhône-Alpes region in south-east France. It has a popular ski resort that has become one of the largest ski and snowboard areas in the world, but also offers summer outdoor and watersports activities (including canoeing, kayaking and white water activities).

Les Arcs and the Paradiski System
Les Arcs is part of the Paradiski system, recently linked with that of La Plagne via Plan-Peisey, which is under ownership by Compagnie des Alpes, and is in Bourg-Saint-Maurice. It compises a group of modern complexes and was expressly designed as a ski resort, with a collection of hillside buildings and a contemporary faux-Savoyard village. Le Vanoise Express runs 3000 metres from Les Arcs, 380 metres over the Tarentaise Valley from Plan-Peisey and Les Coches over to La Plagne. The resort is not only unique due to its modern architecture, but also because of its infrastructure and support systems.Although there are not many international visitors or tourists, there are a great many English-speakers, making language no problem. The best time to travel is outside of the winter months, as the area is prone to flooding.
